Cohn Campus Pickup and Drop-Off

PARKING LOT USE
  • All spots are reserved for faculty and staff
  • Lot will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 4:15 p.m., except for parents who have to drop off or pick up a child for an appointment during the day, and for cars with a handicap placard.
  • Parents are not allowed to line up on Laura Lane.
  • Parents will be able to park in the Cohn Campus parking lot after 4:15 p.m.
  • Please do not park in the Post Office parking lot at any time.

DROP OFF PROCEDURE

    3rd, 4th and 5th    8:10 am
    Middle School 7:55 am
     
  • Once on Laura Lane, please follow traffic flow in and out of the parking lot.
  • Do not drop off your child on Laura Lane or park at the Post Office unless you are a customer.
  • Parking in the Post Office parking lot is prohibited.
  • Teachers or staff members will assist your child in getting out of the car; your child should not get out of the car by him/herself. Please do not get out of your car, as this actually slows traffic, despite best intentions.
  • Make sure your child has all of his/her belongings with him/her. Opening your trunk will delay traffic flow.

DISMISSAL & PICK UP PROCEDURES
  • Supervisors will escort students to Geng Road, where students must be signed out by an authorized parent/guardian/adult.
  • The Assistant Dean of Students and Day Care supervisors will escort middle school students to Geng Road, where students will be picked up by an authorized parent/guardian/adult.
  • Please park at the end of Geng Road Path. The parking lot is located at the end of Geng Road, off of East Embarcadero.
  • Please see the general dismissal schedule below. Exact middle school dismissal times are based upon the options offered, please refer your child’s grade/program-specific online dismissal form.
  • Please pick up your child during the specified arrival and departure times.  Children not picked up by the departure time will be escorted back to the Cohn Campus and checked into extended care.
  • If you need to make a change to your child’s pick up location, do not contact the teacher. Instead, notify the Cohn Campus Reception (650-251-8500) at least one day ahead of time and they will note the change. If your child needs to be picked up early, please notify the teacher and Cohn Campus Reception.

Siblings
Students in Elementary School who are dismissed earlier will wait for their Elementary School siblings and walk with them to Geng Road at the later time. Middle school students who have younger siblings will wait for them, and walk to Geng Road with their siblings at the scheduled time.

Severe Weather Dismissal
On declared severe weather days, the school will send an email/SMS message to families and post to ISTPnet by 2:00 p.m., and the parking lot will be open to parents at 2:40 p.m. on days when Middle School students have early dismissal. Otherwise, the parking lot will open at 2:50 p.m. Dismissal for Primary School will take place on campus, beginning with early release
  • Middle School at 2:30 pm or 3:35 pm
  • Upper Elementary (Grades 3rd - 5th) at 2:50 pm
  • Lower Elementary (Grades 1st - 2nd) at 3:10 pm
Please note that this is for severe weather only. Please send your child(ren) prepared to walk to Geng Road in the rain.
