Upper Elementary Physical Education Teacher
The International School of the Peninsula seeks an Upper Elementary School P.E. Teacher for the 2019-2020 school year, beginning in the middle of August. 
The UES P.E. Teacher must demonstrate commitment to ISTP’s mission and the population we serve, as well as be experienced with teaching at the elementary school level. They must also be responsible, self-motivated, friendly, willing to work with a team of colleagues, and be accepting and adaptable to a working environment with different cultures.  The gym is a shared space, so adaptability/flexibility and communication skills are essential.
The position involves teaching through inquiry according to the PYP framework, while also ensuring foundational skill acquisition, and collaborating extensively with English, French, and Chinese teachers.  The position is comprised of teaching four classes at each grade level (3rd, 4th, 5th) twice a week. Time for collaboration with the other teachers is built into the schedule.  ISTP seeks teachers who know how to combine academic rigor with student engagement and have experience with inquiry-based teaching and learning. 
  • University degree
  • Minimum 5 years experience teaching elementary school children
  • Experience with the Primary Years Program (PYP) of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) preferred
