The International School of the Peninsula’s Language Immersion Summer Camp is designed to give children entering Nursery 3 years old by November 15, 2012) through Middle School a unique opportunity to spend their summer break learning or improving in a second language. Students are grouped according to both grade level and language proficiency.

The camp, available in French, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and ESL, consists of three different two-week sessions. Sessions run Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. ISTP's 2012 
Summer Camp  offer many language immersion opportunities to students and consists of a combination of language classes and afternoon activities taught in the target language to increase each student's exposure to the language. Beginner students will learn basic language skills and will be taught vocabulary relevant to daily life.

The Language Immersion Summer Camp is staffed by experienced and qualified teachers.
OPTIMAL EXPOSURE TO LANGUAGE • FUN SPORTS AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Most of the afternoon activities are taught in the target language. All levels of proficiency are combined and students benefit from a full immersion environment to complement morning language classes. Depending on enrollment, two or more of the following activities will be offered each week for each language.

Mandarin: Kung Fu, Chinese Dance, Games, Calligraphy, Chinese Brush Painting, Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Chinese Acrobatics, and Singing.
French: Judo, Tennis, Fencing, Dance,Basketball, Table Tennis, Games, Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Acrobatics, and Singing.
Spanish: Latin Dances and Folkore, Sports, Games, Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Reading, and Singing.
ESL: Sports, Games, Arts & Crafts, Cooking, Reading and Science Projects.
Lunch
Healthy bag lunches can be ordered online. A link to Taste Nutrition website will be available at a later time.
Assembly
All sessions  include one exciting assembly (guest speaker, performance, or demonstration) for all students.  Elementary and Middle School students will enjoy a local fieldtrip and an afternoon at Rinconada Pool.
