 | The International School of the Peninsula (ISTP) was established as a French immersion school in 1979, and was named the Peninsula French-American School. Founded by Charlotte de Géry with a small group of parents and friends, the school originally opened its doors to nine students. Today, we have grown to well over five hundred students.
In 1996, the school added the Chinese immersion program as well as an international middle school and changed its name to the International School of the Peninsula.
We are an independent, co-educational Silicon Valley language immersion school for pre-school (nursery, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten), elementary, and middle school students. We have a French immersion and Chinese immersion program for our pre-school through elementary school students. With 30 years of educational achievement, ISTP is recognized as a leader in bilingual education in the Peninsula (Palo Alto) and Silicon Valley area.
ISTP also offers an international middle school program from sixth to eighth grade, open to students of its French immersion and Chinese immersion language programs. Our program prepares students for American high schools, international schools, as well as French schools. |
Our Founder, Charlotte de Géry | | Thirty years ago, the International School of the Peninsula was started by an exceptional person with an unwavering vision for a language immersion school that educates truly bilingual and bicultural individuals. Madame de Géry's drive and the compelling force of her vision galvanized a group of selfless, dedicated people who helped launch the school.
Charlotte de Géry is a permanent honorary trustee of the International School of the Peninsula.
