Why should I give to the Annual Fund?
As is the case with all independent schools, tuition does not cover the complete cost of educating the students at the International School of the Peninsula.
An additional $2,345 ("the gap") per child is required to meet the needs of the school's annual operating budget. These funds are essential and allow us to continually enhance our rich bilingual and multi-cultural educational offerings
Additionally, unlike tuition, donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowable by law. For further tax details, please consult your tax preparer.
What is "the gap"?
"The gap" represents the difference between the actual cost of education and tuition revenue. On average, it costs $19,578 to educate each child at our school, resulting in a defecit of $2,345 per student.
Do you accept matching gifts?
Absolutely. Many companies offer matching gift programs, which doubles your contribution to our school. If you are unsure if your company offers such a program, please ask your HR representative for more details. This is an "easy" way to double your gift to the school!
How much am I expected to give?
For those who are able, we encourage you to give "the gap" of $2,345 or more for each of your children attending ISTP. Even if you have multiple children and are only able to give "the gap" once, you are still making a tremendous difference at school. We understand that the amount you give is a personal choice. Please know that all gifts are deeply appreciated - whether you contribute $25 or $50,000.
Board of Trustees Challenge Grant Program
The Board of Trustees has created a matching fund focusing on "the gap." When the number of families giving "the gap" (or more) to the 2007-2008 Annual Fund has doubled the number of families that gave "the gap" in 2006-2007, the Board will contribute up to $50,000 to the Annual Fund. This matching fund is made possible by 100% participation from the Board of Trustees. Please consider making a contribution at this level.
Annual Fund Phone-a-Thon
If your donation is not received by October 31st, please expect a call during our annual fund Phone-a-thon on November 1st. When a volunteer calls you, please remember that he or she is working on behalf of the International School of the Peninsula.
