Requirements
- Language Proficiency Requirements
- We accept monolingual children only at the following grade levels: nursery, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten.
- Entering at any other grade level requires existing language proficiency in the target language (either French or Chinese).
- Age Requirements
- The minimum age for nursery, pre-kindergarten, and kindergarten for the year that the child will begin school is as follows:
- For nursery, children need to be 3 by December 31.
- For pre-kindergarten the child must be 4 by December 31.
- For kindergarten the child must be 5 by December 31.
- Children also need to be potty trained before they start school.
- Foreign students will be required to comply with all US immigration regulations as the school does not have an I-20 program.

- Fill out and mail in your application, along with your $100 application fee by January 25, 2008.
- If you are applying for 1st - 8th grade, please send us your child's latest school transcript.

- The Office of Admissions will contact you to schedule an evaluation for your child.
Evaluation for children applying to our Early Year's Program (nursery through kindergarten) will be held on January 26, 2008 or February 9, 2008.
Children applying after January 25, 2008 may be schedule for an evaluation on March 22, 2008, pending space availability in our programs.
Children applying to 1st through 8th grade will be scheduled for a half-day school visit where they will attend a class while participating in an interactive classroom-based evaluation.
- Decisions will be mailed out to prospective parents on February 29 (for nursery and pre-k applicants) or March 12 (for kindergarten through 8th grade applicants).
- Should you receive a letter of acceptance, in order to guarantee a place for your child, you will be required to return the Enrollment Agreement within 10 days of its mailing along with the enrollment fee and registration deposit.
- Any spaces in the school that have not been filled after the 10-day return period will then be made available to waitlisted applicants, one at a time on a rolling basis. This rolling admissions policy will continue until the beginning of school in early September, depending on space availability in each class.
Admissions Decision
- The Admissions Committee determines the final decisions. Decisions are based on a holistic view of the child, including the child's ability to learn, receptivity to language acquisition, interaction with other children, positive demeanor, and, if applicable, academic performance through previous transcripts. The Admissions Committee is also looking for a shared educational philosophy between the school and the family.
- The International School of the Peninsula admits students without regard to race, religion, color, gender, creed or sexual orientation.
