Nursery - Kindergarten
The Maternelle and Early Years Program at the International School of the Peninsula serves as a complement to your child's upbringing at home and is a place where essential experiences and learning occur. Our highly qualified, native speaking teachers provide a solid foundation for students' language acquisition. Within a caring and nurturing atmosphere, our students are encouraged to develop self-esteem as well as respect for others.

Students entering our nursery program are ready to make the transition from their familiar home setting or day care, to a new school environment. It is a place where children learn how to be in a school setting and where they are encouraged to express themselves through different means of communication. The International School of the Peninsula accepts students as young as 2 years 9 months in September. Children need to be 3 years old by the end of the calendar year (December 31). Children entering the school also need to be potty trained prior to being admitted into school, thus allowing our teachers to maximize their teaching time.
Children enrolled in the Maternelle and Program will spend 80% of their day immersed in French. The goal of our immersion program is to provide students with enough vocabulary, structure, and competency to understand and express themselves in French or Mandarin. In lines with our international mission, students in both programs will be combined during English instruction. During English, students will further develop their competencies in oral comprehension and understanding.
Highlights of our Maternelle and Program include:
- Multi-cultural learning environment (30+ nationalities)
- Low student to teacher ratio (as low as 8:1 in nursery and pre-k)
- Internationally trained native speaking teachers
- Shared English time between Maternelle and
Program
- Structured learning activities
- Spacious age-appropriate facility
- Separate age-appropriate playground structures for nursery, pre-k and kindergarten children.
- Safe, nurturing, close-knit school community
