Chinese/English Elementary School The science curriculum in the Chinese/English Program uses a hands-on approach to teaching topics that fall into three main areas: life science, physical science, and earth science. The science curriculum is taught in English. Methodologies utilized include teacher-led experiment demonstrations; teacher-led lessons; class discussions; video presentations; individual student and group experiments; journal writing; individual and group projects; and individual and group presentations. The health curriculum in the Chinese Program is taught in Chinese. Topics covered range from personal health, hygiene, and safety to inter-personal relationships to the health of the community and environment. Connections are made between the health curriculum and those of science, language arts and social studies in both languages. |
