Shopping with the 6thIB

Last Friday, the 6th IB Spanish class went on a shopping trip to Redwood City. Their destination was a stretch of Middlefield Rd. where a thriving Mexican BARRIO (neighborhood) holds all sorts of markets and shops which serve the enormous Mexican population of the area. The class’s goal was to practice their skills in real-life situations, interacting with native Spanish speakers. At first the students were hesitant, but with the patient help of the kind shopkeepers, they quickly gained confidence. With lunch in a local TAQUERIA, and a cooling RASPADO (snowcone) at the end, the class said ADIOS to a fun learning experience.
