Ecuador Cooking Class in 7th IB

If you passed the kitchen last Friday noon, you would have heard, smelled, and tasted a bit of Ecuador. The 7th IB Spanish class is studying the culture of that country, so  they prepared a bit of its cuisine while listening to the Andean music typical of that region. The students prepared EMPANADAS, filled pastry pockets, and LOCRO, a creamy potato soup rich with melted cheese and avocado chunks. The students had fun learning the tricky way to close the pastries with a finger crimping called the REPULGUE  which the teacher learned from her grandmother. All in all, it was an enjoyable (and DELICIOSO) way to learn about another culture.
