| On a beautiful Thursday morning, the beginning Spanish classes of 6IB and 8th French-Program went on a shopping trip to a busy Mexican street. Well, it was really Middlefield Rd. in Redwood City where a thriving Mexican BARRIO (neighborhood) , complete with all sorts of shops and markets, can be reached after just a 15-minute drive. The teachers’ goal was for the students to practice their skills in real-life situations, with native Spanish speakers. The salespeople were all welcoming, patient, and proud to help in this exercise, and our students were thrilled to test their new skills in such a fun way. |
