Chinese 4th grade and 6th grade IB program students made papier-mâché of their own faces. Then they painted the masks. In Chinese Beijing Opera, the actors of Jing have various colorful facial make-up. Colors of the faces have symbolic meanings. In general, red is the color of loyalty and courage; purple, of wisdom; black, of loyalty and integrity. Blue, green and yellow are used on the faces of bad guys. Gold and silver are used on the faces of spirits and Buddhas.
