| Breads Around the World with Susan Brooks | ||||||||
Even though people's cultures are different around the world, we all have bread in common. To celebrate the world's different cultures, the third graders participated in an annual Breads Around the World project. Each student researched a country using an encyclopedia in class. At home, the students prepared a bread from the country they were researching.
After giving a mini speech, the students prepared each of their desks with a tablecloth, a map, a flag, and other artifacts to represent the country they chose. Then the breads were cut into sample pieces and all of the third grade rooms were opened. The students went from room to room to sample breads from around the world. |

Some of the students wore a traditional accessory from the country of their bread's origin. We were fortunate to have some ISTP teachers and middle school students stop by to sample the breads as well. It was a wonderful way to celebrate our international school!
