Frightened by scarecrows in 3rd grade French section.

The scarecrow project involves teamwork, problem solving, planning and creativity.
The students create groups and decide which member of the team should bring what items. Problem solving within the group is used for conflicts that arise while deciding.
Team members go home and search for their specific item: a hat, head, a scarf, jeans or overalls, a long sleeve shirt, gloves. Consider what would happen if a short sleeve shirt were chosen!
On scarecrow building day, creativity comes into play while the team members build their field fellow.
This activity takes more time in the planning than it does in the making. It takes just a few minutes to stuff and prop up!
The children enjoyed creating lifelike forms from a few pieces of clothing.
Some of the scarecrows had added personality with stitched facial features.
