| | Over 30 Years of Academic Excellence The International School of the Peninsula (previously known as the Peninsula French American School) was founded in 1979 by French teacher Charlotte de Géry, a remarkable woman with an unwavering dedication to bilingual immersion education.
When Charlotte and her husband Xavier moved to the Bay Area, she immediately made plans to open a French-American school in the Peninsula area. In 1962, they were about to open the doors to "Ecole de Géry." Unfortunately, difficulty beset the de Géry family and halted Charlotte's plans. One of Charlotte's children became very ill, and Charlotte was forced to put the dream of opening her own bilingual school on hold. Thankfully, Charlotte's child recovered, and seventeen years later, with unwavering dedication, Charlotte was able to see her dream materialize.
